TikTok Video Not Downloading? 8 Fixes That Actually Work (2026)

📅 31 August 2026 · RedNoteViDownload Guides

When a TikTok download fails, it's almost always one of these eight reasons. Run down the list — most people are fixed by #1.

1. You copied the wrong thing

Use the app's Share → Copy Link — not the browser address bar, not a screen recording of the link. Our box can find a link inside long share text, but the link itself must be complete.

2. The video is private or friends-only

If you needed to log in to watch it, no downloader can fetch it — and rightly so.

3. The video was deleted

Open the link yourself first. If TikTok says "video unavailable," it's gone for everyone.

4. A region or age restriction

Some videos are locked to certain countries or ages. Try a different video to confirm your setup works.

5. A momentary platform hiccup

TikTok rate-limits sometimes. Wait 10–20 seconds and tap Download again — retry usually succeeds.

6. Your connection

A weak or switching network can cut the request. Switch Wi‑Fi ↔ mobile data and retry.

7. Browser blocking the download

On iPhone, if the video plays instead of saving, long-press it → Download Linked File.

8. Very new TikTok link formats

Update your TikTok app — old versions generate outdated share links.
