Quick fixes and walkthroughs for every situation.
Getting started in 30 seconds
- In the RedNote app, open the video → tap Share → Copy Link.
- Paste it into the box on our homepage (the Paste button grabs it straight from your clipboard).
- Press Download once. Wait a few seconds while the engine does its magic.
- Watch the preview, pick a quality (or MP3 audio), and save.
Error messages, decoded
| Message | Meaning | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Link expired | Share links age out | Copy a fresh link from the app and retry |
| Private note | Only approved followers can view it | Nothing to do — the content is not public |
| Sign-in required by RedNote | RedNote's wall challenged our server | Just press Retry — the engine tries other routes. Still failing? The Advanced cookie field appears; it's optional. |
| Content deleted | The note was removed | It cannot be downloaded by anyone |
| Engine warming up | Server is starting (first visit after idle) | Wait ~10 seconds and press Download again |
Downloads on iPhone
After pressing Save, Safari shows a download icon (top-right) → tap it → your file is in the Files app → Downloads. Full guide: iPhone tutorial.
Downloads on Android
Files land in your Downloads folder and appear in Google Files / Gallery immediately. Full guide: Android tutorial.
Quality, audio and photos
- Quality list — every resolution the creator uploaded, sorted best-first.
- MP3 audio — pick "256 kbps" or "128 kbps" in the quality list to get an audio file (AAC) for music and voice notes.
- Photos — gallery notes show one Download button per photo; video notes include the cover image too.
