Clean files are great — using them well is greater. This guide explains both halves: how you get watermark-free videos, and how to stay fair to the people who made them.
Where watermarks come from
Watermarks appear when content is re-shared through apps — screen recordings keep overlay UI, and some in-app save options stamp the creator's ID on the video. That stamp is added by the sharing route, not by the original upload itself.
Why our files are clean
We fetch the original stream the creator uploaded to RedNote's servers and pass it to you untouched: no watermark, logo or overlay is ever added by us. The file you receive is byte-for-byte what the platform serves. Read more in the MP4 guide.
What we will never do
- Stamp our own name on your downloads.
- Re-host a library of other people's videos.
- Strip a watermark a creator embedded inside the picture itself — that is their signature, and altering it is not something we support.
The fair-use side, honestly
A clean file is not a free pass to re-upload. Personal offline viewing is the safe zone; re-publishing someone else's work — watermark or not — needs their permission. Credit in a caption is nice, but it does not replace consent. The full picture is in our copyright rules guide and DMCA page.
